Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy sets the content rules for The OC Maker at theocmaker.com: what you can't make, how we check content, how to report a problem, and what we do when someone breaks the rules. It's part of our Terms of Service. The Service is run by Jianwei Li, sole trader ("we", "us").
1. What this covers
Everything you upload or type into the Service, everything it generates for you, and what you do with the results, including posting, sharing or selling them.
2. What you can't make
These six kinds of content are not allowed, on any plan:
- Pornography and sexual content (NSFW). Nudity, sexual acts, or sexualized content of anyone. There is no adult mode.
- Violence and gore. Graphic injury, blood, killing, torture or self-harm, and anything that praises or threatens real violence.
- Hate speech. Content that attacks or demeans people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness, including slurs, hate symbols and extremist propaganda.
- Child-unsafe content. Any sexual content involving minors (CSAM), sexualized content of anyone who looks under 18, and anything that grooms or endangers children.
- Deepfakes and impersonation. Face swaps, "nudify" edits, putting real people into intimate scenes, or making a real person seem to say or do something they didn't, whether or not they agree. Don't use the Service to pass one person or brand off as another.
- Copyright and trademark infringement. Don't upload or generate material you don't have the rights to, and don't present results as an official product of another company or brand.
Zero tolerance
We close the account straight away, and report to the authorities where the law requires it, for child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors; content that promotes or helps terrorism, violent extremism or mass violence; instructions for weapons of mass destruction; content that incites genocide or hatred against an ethnic group; and deepfakes of real people, whether or not they consented.
Also not allowed
- Spreading false claims, or presenting AI output as real evidence of a real event.
- Passing AI-generated results off as made by a person when that matters.
- Bulk-generating spam or deceptive ads.
- Trying to get around our safety checks.
Material of real people
Only upload photos, videos or voice recordings of yourself, or of people who gave you permission. Uploading someone else's image or voice without their consent is not allowed, and every upload asks you to confirm this. Permission never makes the deepfakes listed above acceptable.
3. How we check content
Automated checks. Everything you type into the forms and every picture you upload is checked before it reaches an image or text model. Every image and every text result is checked again before you see it. The checks use OpenAI's moderation model. When something is flagged, we stop and nothing is charged.
The AI models we use also refuse unsafe content. When they do, the request stops and any credits go back to you. Every report is read and handled by a person, and we keep a record of reports and the decisions we make.
AI models we use
- Characters, ref sheets and bases: Nano Banana 2 (Gemini image model) by Google (draws the images, through the Yir AI gateway).
- Example characters on this site: GPT Image 2.5 by OpenAI (drew the sample OCs, ref sheets and bases you see on the pages, through the Nova AI gateway).
- Headcanons, names and OC ideas: GPT-4.1 mini by OpenAI (writes the text tools' lists, through the AIsa AI gateway).
- Content checks: omni-moderation by OpenAI (checks what you type, the pictures you upload and every result).
4. How to report a problem
Email support@theocmaker.com with "Report" in the subject. Tell us where the content is (a link or ID if you have one), what's wrong, and, if it's about you or your work, how you're connected to it. For anything involving a child's safety, put "URGENT" in the subject.
We keep the reporter's identity private, every report gets a fair, independent look, and reports made in bad faith are recorded and can lead to action against the reporter's account.
5. How fast we act
- L1 Critical (Child safety, terrorism, sexual deepfakes): first reply within 12 hours, resolved within 24 hours.
- L2 High (Sexual content, graphic violence, hate, impersonation): first reply within 24 hours, resolved within 3 business days.
- L3 Medium (Copyright or trademark complaints, other rule breaks): first reply within 3 business days, resolved within 7 business days.
- L4 Low (Minor issues): first reply within 5 business days, resolved within 15 business days.
Each report goes: received → sorted by how serious it is → checked → decision → action → we tell you the outcome. If something takes longer, we'll tell you why.
6. What happens when someone breaks the rules
- Warning: for a first, minor problem.
- Content removal: we delete the content from our storage.
- Credit forfeiture: credits spent on content that breaks these rules aren't refunded, and for serious or repeated breaks the remaining credits can be forfeited.
- Suspension: we pause the account while we review a serious problem or repeated breaks.
- Permanent ban: for zero-tolerance problems or repeated serious ones. Any paid plan is cancelled.
- Reporting to authorities: child sexual abuse material goes to the relevant authorities, and we cooperate with lawful investigations.
7. Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email support@theocmaker.com with "Appeal" in the subject within 30 days of our notice. We look at it again and reply within 10 business days.
8. Changes and contact
We'll post changes here at least 15 days before they apply, unless the law or an urgent safety problem needs a faster change.
